The department of Economics in pursuit of the vision and mission of the University, offers M.A. in Economics Programto facilitate competitive policy making through the advances of economic modelling and empirics for global economic empowerment. The Department is committed to inculcate and sustain higher standards in research and teaching, catering to regional, national and global needs. The Departmentprovide quality instruction to students for a career in economics, and to enable the Students to understand current economic issues and challenges, and promoting knowledge through research – applied, conceptual and to disseminate such knowledge through publications.

The department aims at empowering students from both rural and urban areas to not only face the challenges emerging from the ever evolving Society.The study of economics gains a toolkit of skills, approaches and ways of thinking that one can apply to a wide range of problems. Economics is one of the central disciplines underpinning the study of business and management and public policy. It provides a systematic framework for analysing, researching, writing, and teaching about a wide array financial and regional economic issues. It has providing a methodology for understanding and making sense of our complex environment. As a teacher of economics, one of our responsibilities is to share the knowledge through publications, presentations, and Web-based products, so that it may be beneficial to others.The Programme in Economics has been designed with the objective to develop in-depth knowledge of students in frontier areas of economic theory and methods, so that they are able to use the knowledge to study real world economic problems.
