I welcome you to the Science departments of Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University either as a student or researcher or collaborator.
The faculty includes basic science departments such as Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Zoology. All the departments have a blend of experienced and young faculty with few faculty having international exposure.
All the departments offer M.Sc. & Ph.D. programs. The intake of students for M.Sc. program is 50. In addition to Main campus, some Science programs are offered at PG centre, Koppal and constituent colleges. The University has taken utmost interest to provide adequate facilities to all the departments in terms of ICT enabled classrooms, laboratories, instrumentation rooms, Library etc. Departments regularly conduct seminars/workshops/conferences/Lecture series to acquint students with latest developments in Science. Faculty are putting maximum efforts to deliver quality education as well as values to the students. In addition, all the departments are active in research and carrying out quality research work. Some Departments have received DST-FIST grant to enhance the research facilities and outcomes. Furthermore, faculty have received research grants from DST, CSIR, VGST, KSTA, UGC, etc. DST has recently funded India-Ujbekistan collaborative project on Hydrogen energy production. The multidisciplinary advanced research center established by the university comprises basic as well as advanced instruments to promote research and inculcate scientific temper among students. More than 60 students have been awarded Ph.D. degree from Science departments & 100 more students are working for Ph.D. degree. Faculty have published their research in high quality journals and are also credited with few patents. Faculty have received awards like sir CV Raman Young Scientist award & Best publication award of Karnataka Government. Few alumni are pursuing their Ph.D./ Post-Doc in abroad. Some of our students are well-placed either in industry or academia.

Department has 04 permanent faculty with a blend of young and experienced faculty and few faculty have international exposure. Department offers M.Sc. & Ph.D. programs.
