Department of studies BOTANY
The Department of Botany was established in 2015-16 academic year. Currently Department is offering M.Sc.and Ph.D. programmes in Botany. The Department right from its inception has been imparting knowledge and training to equip students in Plant Sciences.At present Department has excellent infrastructure and expert staff members in different fields of plant sciences.M.Sc. and Ph.D. syllabus are revising as per the UGC guidelines
Currently, with unique mix of classical as well as modern frontier areas of plant science in teaching and research provide students with substantial exposure to the entrepreneurial activities also producing well trained professionals who are capable of meeting the contemporary challenges.Faculty members have excellent track record of teaching and research in the fields of Plant Taxonomy, Molecular Biology, Phytochemistry, Pharmacology and their contributions are evident through their high-quality research publications in reputed international journals, filed patents, also organizing National Level Seminars etc
. It also plans to host archives of plants, museum, establishment of Botanical Garden, herbarium collections, creating a digital herbarium centre and research publications into the relevant areas – all of which provide tremendous opportunities for students and researchers to learn both in and outside of the classroom.
