IQAC
Introduction:
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore was established to undertake the performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation and quality up-gradation of institutions of higher education in India. The University has set up Internal Quality Assurance Cell as a measure to initiate and sustain quality in all aspects of its functioning. Accordingly, IQAC will be a part of the apparatus to ensure and realize quality enhancement in the institution. Developing a system for consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of the institution is the task cut out for the IQAC.”
1. IQAC Goals:
To develop a quality system to improve the academic and administrative performance of the Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University(VSKU);
To improvise measures to enhance the quality of the functioning of the institution through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
2. IQAC Functions:
To plan and implement quality benchmarks to improve various academic and administrative activities of the University.
To create and ensure learning-centric environment conducive for quality education and faculty improvement programmes to update the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
To arrange for feedback response from students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders on institutional processes related to administration and academics.
To organize workshops and seminars on quality enhancement.
To document the various programmes/activities of the University.
Acting as a nodal agency of the University for coordinating quality-related Activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
To maintain institutional database through MIS.
To prepare the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.
According to UGC Regulation 2010, IQAC shall act as the Documentation and Record-Keeping Cell, including assistance in the development of the API criteria based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) proforma using the indicative template separately developed by the UGC. In order to facilitate the process, all teachers shall submit the duly filled-in PBAS proforma to the IQAC annually.
The AQAR shall be approved by the statutory bodies of VSKU (such as Academic Council and Syndicate) for the follow up action for necessary quality enhancement measures.
The University shall regularly submit the AQARs to the NAAC/other accreditation bodies.
The IQAC shall create its window on the University website, to regularly report on its activities, as well as for hosting the AQAR.
