Mission :

The National Service Scheme has been functioning with the motto “NOT ME BUT YOU” in view of making the youth inspired in service of the people and hence NSS Aims Education through Community Service and Community Service through Education.

About the Cell:

National Service Scheme is an Indian government sponsored programme under the Department of youth affairs and sports, GOI. NSS unit was established at Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevraya University, Ballari in the year 2011-12 with an aim to inculcate the social welfare thoughts in the students and to provide to service to the society.

Achievements :

Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadeavaraya University Ballari affiliated colleges have 80 nss units with 8000 NSS volunteers and 60 trained programme officers. With NSS Regular activities, organizing Health camp, blood donation camp, Shramadana cleaning etc., also organizing a 7 day special camp in adopted villages. VSKU NSS Cell organized 4 National Integration camps with equilibration of NSS Cell Govt of Karnataka. 150 Selected student volunteers from different states. NSS Cell Deputed Volunteers for Adventure camps, Youth Parliament , Republic day parade and National Integration Camps for different places also organized special workshops, seminars for students. Also organized leadership Camp, young leaders award functions for Programme officers. On occasion of Devraj Aras Birth day organized 2days programme with selected volunteers from 80units cleaned jail for 3 acres in the campus for playing ground as part of Shramadana
